This site is a tribute to George Hoy, a Belfast boy brought to RAF Melksham where he found the love of his life, Gwyneth (Gwen). They went on to have 3 children, Philip, Karen and Lynne - and grandsons Nathan and Stephen.
They lived for some time in Lincoln and Ilfracombe while George continued serving with the RAF, but eventually returned to Melksham, from where dad worked with Westinghouse until his retirement.
He did a stirling job following the loss of Gwyneth, but gave up his fight against cancer following the loss of his daughter Karen in January.
The staff at Dorothy House were exceptionally supportive to George and his daughter Lynne in his final months, so donations would be gratefully received - knowing they will be used to help families in similar situations.
Finally thanks are to be given for all those from Belfast who wrote messages on the Hoy brothers on the Belfast Forum and the Shankill sites - many a twinkle were brought to George's eyes as he was prompted to explain some of the tales, such as Rosie the Pony and champion greyhound Tideway.
We are still waiting for our pony dad.
He was amazed that these tales were remembered and brought to us by the world wide Web.
You will always be remembered dad.
Miss you Grandad x
